Ron Nielsen
Investment Officer

Ron Nielsen is Milestone's Investment Officer. He manages a portion of Milestone's portfolio and is active in the minority business community generating new investments. In addition to being responsible for new investments including due diligence, initial underwriting, and presentation for approval to Milestone's Investment Committee, Mr. Nielsen is our lead relationship manager and advisor to portfolio companies.

Mr. Nielsen is an accomplished financial professional with 30 years of experience in commercial banking including commercial lending, workouts, credit administration, and management. Most recently he was a Vice President at Voyager Bank, where he was responsible for building and managing a $10 to $12 million commercial portfolio.

He started his career at Marquette Bank Minneapolis and served in a variety of capacities over 15 years. At Richfield Bank & Trust Co., where he served as Vice President of Commercial Banking, Mr. Nielsen was responsible for commercial lending activity, loan review and credit administration, and business planning for a $130 million loan and lease portfolio, a $100 million indirect auto loan portfolio, and a $35 million auto lease portfolio. He also achieved a CAMEL 1 Rating for the bank in 1996, 1997, and 1998.

Mr. Nielsen is a member of The Risk Management Association – once known as Robert Morris Associates – an association specializing in the promotion of effective and prudent risk management practices. He is also a member of the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Board of Directors for Metro Certified Development Company, a non-profit SBA-504 development company, as well as the Minnesota Bankers Association.

Mr. Nielsen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota.
